Ryanair’s growth plan goes down the drain

According to Stelios Haji-Ioannou, establisher of EasyJet, the plan of its competitor Ryanair concerning the company’s growth can lead to a sticky end. It is very important for Ryanair in Dublin to augment numbers of passengers by 50pc over next two-and-a-half years. Such plan will help to fill its 200 aircraft and also other 100 on order.

Ryanair’s business model challenge

Last week, easyJet’s founder Sir Stelios, took yet another stab at Ryanair’s strategy. He said that Ryanair “needs to increase passenger numbers by 50 percent over the next 2 1/2 years to fill its 200 aircrafts and another 100 on order”, then added, “I believe that he will have a lot of grounded aircrafts in the next few years.”

Germanwings says Ryanair won’t last

Thomas Winkelmann, CEO of the German low-cost company GermanWings, said Ryanair is not likely to last because it does not attract the corporate market. Winkelmann spoke for Travelmole saying the more Ryanair flies to an airport, the higher losses it has to sustain. This is not the first time Ryanair’s business model is questioned and won’t certainly be the last.

Aer Lingus and Ryanair accused of ripoff

The cost for a seat on November 17th or 18th increased by 500% 20 minutes after the Irish team’s fate was confirmed.

Rivalry between Boeing and Airbus due to aircraft orders
