In you’re flying around India, you’ll be very happy to know that all Indian airlines applied a 50% discount to all their fares, following Jet Airways’ similar decision. Trying to make their fares more popular, Jet Airways and Jet Airways Konnect announced a 50% discount for five days all throughout this week (September 14th – 18th).

“50% discount on total fare (economy class)” is the message advertised by the company on all domestic flights valid up to Friday.

Jet Airways executive director Saroj Dutta said that this way they are trying to cut down losses of over Rs 200 crore ($40 million) following the pilots’ strike. The strike started on Monday, when more than one third of pilots called in sick in what the Jet Airways company called a simulated strike. (via Indiatimes.com)
