Google is getting bigger and bigger and in an attempt to “boost” their traffic up in the sky, they decided to offer a free wireless hotspot from November 15th to January 2010 for all Virgin Airline customers.

Thus, you avoid a fee that the airline usually charges for this kind of service – $13 for computers and $8 for handheld devices and smartphones. According to Google, this measure was taken in an attempt to make flights more enjoyable and less stressful during the busy holiday season, but their sponsorship might be aimed at getting passengers to use their products during a flight.

Virgin Airlines only services U.S. cities so other travelers won’t be able to enjoy this service. Still, tens of thousands of passengers will benefit from this free service Google has to offer.
