Passengers from 160 countries, members of Priority Pass – world’s largest airport lounge programme, took an average of 17 flights last year all over the world and they all agree: Europe’s biggest airport, Heathrow is the worst airport in the whole word.

The result is not that surprising since the Londoner airport got this “title” last year, as well. Last year the main complaints came because the unlucky opening of Terminal 5, which led to unbelievable flight delays and a record number of lost bags.

Still, the airport reports better services this summer: the punctuality of the flights had improved by 14 percent comparing last year and the average delay reduced to ten minutes, from 18 minutes.

“We are working very hard to make every passenger’s journey to or from better than the last one, and these figures demonstrate the we are making good progress. However, the challenge is continuously to raise standards and through our long-term investment strategy, which sees £1 billion spent on facilities and services every year, we are rebuilding an airport of which the UK can be rightly proud,” says the chief operating officer at Heathrow, Mike Brown.

heatrow_T5A Telegraph poll indicates though that 80% of the ones that landed at Terminal 5 enjoyed their experience, although they are uncontent about the services provided at the other four terminals.

Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris was voted the second worst and the following places were taken by LAX in Los Angeles, Frankfurt International and Miami International. At the end of the poll, the best airports were the Asian ones: Singapore Changi, followed by Hong Kong’s Chek Lap Kok. Europe’s best voted airport was Amsterdam Schiphol.
