Flying like sardines – the future of low cost?

If you ever thought that sitting face to face with other passengers would never happen, think again. A UK based company is currently pitching a new airline cabin, that will make the customers face each other!

But don’t think this aircraft is conceived for transatlantic flights. The idea is to pack more passengers on a short flight and by doing so, to increase the airlines revenues. Also, having this seating plan will conduct to higher rates for the ones that would like to be seated “classicaly”.

While you can already hear the customers whining, we can tell you that the idea is not completely new. The concept was inspired from the military aircrafts, a target that applauded the fresh design. And if you think this could be just enough for a flight, find out that the food distribution during the flight would be almost impossible. Why? The aisles between the seat rows will be to narrow for the stewardess and the food cart to pass!
