The largest aeronautical and defense company in Europe, EADS, is planning to expand to Romania, attracted by low costs Eastern Europe has to offer. EADS could start producing components for Airbus as of April 2010 in central Brasov, says Reuters.
The Minister of Economy said this project could be worth €90 million and can create 300 new jobs.
Premium Aerotec is the EADS division create this year that plans to expand to Romania. Aerotec currently has factories in Varel, Nordenham and Augsburg, Germany.
EADS previously delivered five helicopters to the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs. The company is also renegociating a contract with the Romanian government for the Integrated State Border Securization, which assumes the removal of border controls.
